HERA  - Creekmoor, Poole every Friday 10-2pm. Whether you are thinking of, or are already home educating, we would like to invite you to come and  meet other home educators and our children. Taunton/Oake area - meetings at Oake Village Hall on the first Tuesday of each month in term time, 11.30am - 2.30pm , plus occasional outings to museums, bowling, walks.

Calendar of Events
Events at Monkton Wyld

Bushcraft afternoons for 4 Thursdays, starting on Thursday 5th May at Monkton Wyld Court.
1.30 to 3 p.m. Aimed at home ed primary school age children and their parent/carers but you are welcome to bring along younger children as well.   £2.50 per child per session.

We will be outdoors to light fires, make a bread stick holder and bake dampers over the fire. Make dens and nettle cordage.

Open Day at Monkton Wyld Court and Steiner Kindergarten.
Saturday 26th March 2011.
11- 4 p.m. (Dances of universal peace at 11!)

Look around the Steiner Kindergarten. Launch of Charlotte’s Saturday morning muddy wellies club for children and their parent/carers. Morris dancing.

See what is available for children and adults alike. Bushcrafts and soup available around an outside fire. Tea and cake available from Monkton’s cafe.

Open meeting at 2.30/3 p.m. re (Steiner?) school interest.

Tamar Valley Home Education Group - a friendly group of home educators who meet regularly for social activities and support.

This ‘News & Updates’ page has been created, so that you can keep up to date with news, events, resources, new groups etc. as they are added to the HESW website.

A Calendar of Events has been added to the site, noting events and workshops that may be of interest to families.  Contact the HESW webteam if you want to add an event.

New resource -
OPAL - The Open Air Laboratories network is an exciting new initiative that is open to anyone with an interest in nature.  Take part in the OPAL surveys and learn skills, have fun and help scientists in important research.
